About A Teixa Blanco

A Teixa Blanco is a white wine produced by Luis Anxo Rodríguez in Arnoia (Orense) in the D.O. Ribeiro.

 

In 1988, Luis Anxo Rodríguez created a small winery full of family tradition in "Os Pasás", Paixón, municipality of Arnoia. It has 2.7 hectares of vineyards, distributed in 29 plots. His ambition is to work with local varieties, recover the sandy siliceous soils of the sloping terrains and carry out a winegrowing process that is low yield, manual and environmentally friendly.

  

A Teixa Blanco is a wine made essentially from Treixadura , with Godello and Albariño, from the vineyard of A Teixa de Hermida in Ribadavia, which is planted on deep sandy soils, on the northern face of the Davia river.

Harvest is performed by hand. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they all ferment together with local yeasts in 23-hectolitre oak foudres, where they are left on their fine lees for a year.

A Teixa Blanco 2018 is a creamy, mature, fresh wine. On the nose there are subtle notes of nuts, fruit (citrus), herbs and mineral touches. This contrasts with the palate, where it is exuberant with a very direct freshness. Slightly unctuous. Elegant. Long and bitter finish.
