Abel Mendoza 5V 2024 is the finest example of how a coupage can become pure harmony: a white wine that knows how to extract the best from each of the varieties it comprises. On the nose, it unfolds citrus freshness of lemon peel and spearmint, softened by the allure of lychee and peach. On the palate, the acidity is balanced with nuances of pear, apricot, and tangerine, wrapped in the elegance of precise oak. A concentrated, serious, and refined wine, combining power and subtlety in a long and memorable finish.

About Abel Mendoza 5V

Abel Mendoza 5V is a white wine produced in D.O.C.a Rioja by Abel Mendoza Monje in San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

Abel Mendoza began his journey in 1988, and he currently has 18 hectares that have been organically cultivated along the banks of the Ebro. The cultivation lands are rough and with a mixed composition, alternating clayey soils, marl and fine sandstones. Climate is moderately continental, marked by the Cantabrian influence.

Abel Mendoza is a wine grower that works his vines with dedication and turns them into personal wines. This is the result of different interpretations of the terroir.

 

Abel Mendoza 5V is a wine made from Viura, Malvoisie, White Grenache and small amounts of other white varieties, selecting the best grapes from small, very old vineyards.

Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in the vineyard. When they arrive at the winery, the must ferments in new 225-litre French oak barrels, where it rests for 5 months on its fine lees.
