About Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages is a natural red wine made by Alex Foillard with the Gamay variety in the AOC Beaujolais-Villages, in Beaujolais (France).

Alex Foillard, son of one of the great natural wine gurus in Beaujolais, started his own project at just 24 years old but with a great background provided by his father and his neighbours Marcel Lapierre, Guy Breton and Jean-Paul Thévenet. As a result, he produces wines that reveal the essence of the terroir in all its splendour.

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages comes from an east-facing plot located in Saint Ennemond. These vines are 30-50 years old and planted in granite and sand soils. They are organically cultivated without using machinery to protect the area’s biodiversity as much as possible.

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages ferments in cement tanks for 10 days with native yeasts and pump-overs every 2 or 3 days. The wine is then aged for 4 to 5 months in these same tanks. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or clarifying.

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages is a delicious, fine and delicate wine. Without a doubt, one of the iconic wines of contemporary Beaujolais.

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages 2022 is a red wine that captures the vibrancy of youth with its fruity and light profile. Its bouquet unfurls a spectrum of red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, interwoven with hints of ripe black fruits and a refreshing mentholated essence. On the palate, it is flavorful, with its succulence and a well-balanced acidity that beckons one to continue sipping. This Beaujolais Villages is a vivacious wine, perfect for savoring its crispness.
2019

Alex Foillard Beaujolais Villages 2019 is a juicy cuvée with aromas of red and black fruits and minty notes. On the palate it is light, fresh and elegant. This flavoursome wine is made entirely with the Gamay variety and is enriched by a perfectly balanced acidity.
