About Almalarga Godello

Almalarga is a white wine from D.O.Ribeira Sacra produced by Adega Pena das Donas in Pombeiro, in the province of Lugo.

 

Adega Pena das Donas is located between two old vineyards planted with Cabreira and Retrotoiro, on the banks of the river Sil, in the province of Lugo, where the monks built the monastery of San Vicente de Pombeiro in the 12th century.

Its recently built facilities have the latest technology for the production and bottling of wine.

All their wines are produced with grapes cultivated on the banks of the river Sil. Thanks to their special climate, the grapes ripen and give off those aromas that are so characteristic.

 

Almalarga is a wine made from Godello, from their own vineyards, which are over 100 years old, situated on the banks of the river Sil on slate soils.

The grapes are manually harvested and placed in boxes. Then, they are selected in the winery on a selection table. They go through cold maceration before they are fermented in stainless steel deposits, at a controlled temperature of 17ºC. Once the fermentation has finished, they remain on their fine lees for 4 months.

 

 

2019 Almalarga 2019 is an unctuous, fresh and amiable wine. White stone fruit aromas stand out on an elegant mineral background.
