Today, sustainability is a frequent topic of discussion, although not always with substantiated claims. The dreaded greenwashing is prevalent. Thus, it is quite refreshing to encounter projects that truly adhere to what they preach. One such example is Alonso & Pedrajo, the first winery in La Rioja to achieve B Corp certification, an international accolade that distinguishes companies not only for their economic gains but also for generating a positive impact on society, the community, and the environment.

The story began in 2013, when Alberto Pedrajo and Javier Alonso, together with their families, decided to establish a winery that combined tradition, respect for the land, and wines with their own identity. Their environmental commitment in the vineyard and winemaking, but above all with their immediate surroundings, has evolved into a genuine life project.

From this philosophy arises La Pequeñita Blanco Macerado Malvasía Riojana, a unique wine from its roots. It originates from La Cala, a vineyard situated at 640 meters altitude, with malvasía riojana vines over 80 years old and a privileged climate that blends the finest of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences.

The winemaking process follows the path of minimal intervention, with spontaneous fermentation in clay amphorae, a nod to the most ancient traditions. Subsequently, the wine matures in 228 and 500-litre barrels, where it finds a balance between freshness, structure, and complexity.

Thus, La Pequeñita Blanco Macerado Malvasía Riojana is born, a profound and vibrant white wine that reflects the authenticity of a project that views wine not merely as a product, but as a way of caring for the land and the people who inhabit it.
