About Alonso & Pedrajo Suañé Rosado Reserva

Unity is strength, a sentiment that resonates deeply with Alberto Pedrajo and Javier Alonso. These two wine aficionados have combined their efforts and families to establish their own label, Alonso & Pedrajo. Nestled in the village of Villalba de Rioja, on the eastern fringes of the Montes Obarenes in La Rioja (Spain), this boutique winery stands in contrast to the behemoth enterprises that have been in operation for over two centuries. Their mission is to craft exceptional wines that reveal the essence and traditions of the region. They achieve this through subsistence viticulture focused on essential production, championing indigenous grape varieties, and adhering to artisanal methods.

It is with this philosophy that they introduce the Alonso & Pedrajo Suañé Rosado Reserva, a rosé wine originating from vineyards perched at some of the highest elevations in the area, around 600-650 meters above sea level, where a blend of Garnacha Tinta, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viura varieties coalesce. Once harvested, the white grapes undergo skin contact maceration and, after three days, whole clusters of Garnacha are added. The fermentation process is natural, utilizing indigenous yeasts over a span of 15 days, and the wine is subsequently aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

With a desire to showcase the distinctive character and uniqueness of their land, Alonso & Pedrajo Suañé Rosado Reserva is a rosé that captivates from the first sip. Expressive, refined, and incredibly versatile, it possesses all the qualities necessary to savor a Rioja true to its roots.
