About Alta Vista Premium Torrontés

Alta Vista Premium Torrontés is a wood-aged white wine made by Alta Vista, one of the oldest wineries in Mendoza (Argentina).

It is run by the D’Aulan family who used to own the famous Piper Heidsieck Champagne house, so they have a great knowledge of wine. When they embarked on this project on the other side of the world, it was because they clearly saw the winemaking potential in Argentina, specifically in Mendoza. The results proved them right and Alta Vista Wines is now considered one of the pioneering wineries in the expression of Argentine terroirs.

Their Alta Vista Premium Torrontés wine starts life in the Calchaquíes valleys area, which is famous for its reddish rock formations. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out in three stages: early, normal and late, to get the best balance.

In the winery, the Alta Vista Premium Torrontés grapes undergo a 2-hour pre-fermentation skin-contact maceration. They then ferment in stainless steel tanks with constant temperature control and there is no malolactic fermentation in order to maintain freshness and acidity.

Made with one of the most widespread varieties in Argentina, Alta Vista Premium Torrontés is a white wine that integrates French expertise with the passion of the Argentine terroirs.

2018

Alta Vista Premium Torrontés 2018 is a creamy white wine with aromas of white and tropical fruit and floral notes of jasmine. On the palate it is fresh, vibrant and round. A broad and voluminous wine with marked acidity and a slightly bitter finish.
