About Altún Vino de Pueblo Tempranillo

Altún Vino de Pueblo Tempranillo is a red wine produced by Bodegas Altún, in Baños de Ebro, D.O.Ca Rioja.

 

Bodegas Altún is a winery founded in 1989, with the aim of making top-quality wines, respecting the traditional production methods without ceasing to apply the new winemaking technologies.

In 1994, José Antonio Martinez started to select vineyards to start producing their wines. They currently work in the Rioja Alavesa with 45 hectares of their own vines, which are an average of 40 years old. Clayey-calcareous soils and a moderate Atlantic climate thanks to the protection of the mountain range Sierra de Cantabria, mark the personality of these excellent wines.

 

Altún Vino de Pueblo Tempranillo is a wine made from Tempranillo from their own vineyards. Grapes are harvested by hand and selected. Once the grapes are destemmed, they ferment in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature, with a maceration that lasts 8 to 10 days. The ageing is carried out in French oak barrels for 14 months.
