About Arzuaga Reserva Especial

Arzuaga Reserva Especial is an excellent red wine by Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.

A coupage of Tinta del País (90 percent) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10 percent). The grapes come from centenarian vines traditionally farmed in clayey, limestone-rich soil at 900 metres above sea-level.
The soil and harsh Spanish weather result in low yields but highly concentrated grapes.
The harvest takes place manually and the grapes are selected without being de-stemmed before barreling.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels while malolactic fermentation occurs in French new oak barrels.
Arzuaga Reserva Especial is aged for 24 months.
Apart from careful decanting, we recommend allowing the wine plenty of time to air out in the glass prior to drinking.

2016

Arzuaga Reserva Especial 2016 is an exquisitely refined and robust red wine. The bouquet reveals ripe fruit accompanied by nuances of tobacco and sweet spices. On the palate, this spiced profile persists, supported by well-developed tannins. The finish is extensive and lingering.
2011 Arzuaga Reserva Especial 2011 is a mature, balanced and full-bodied red wine. This vintage once again reveals the excellent balance between structure and elegance. On the nose the toasted aromas of aging, roasted elements, leather and chocolate stand out, in harmony with ripe red fruit and spicy notes.
2009 A balanced wine. Soft and pleasant texture.

A reddish-purple appearance that is both clean and bright.

Aromas of dark fruit and precious woods such as cedar together with hints of black liquorice.
2004 In the mouth, it is a well-balanced wine. Soft and pleasant texture.

This wine shows a clean and bright violet red colour.

In the nose, it shows black fruit and hardwood (such as cedar) aromas together with black liquorice reminiscences.
