About As Bateas

As Bateas is a wine produced by the Adega Pombal winery, in the area of Rías Baixas, although slightly outside this denomination.

Adega Pombal is a small family winery which uses methods of traditional production. As Bateas comes  from vines between 12 and 50 years old. The soil is granite with some areas of clay. After the grapes are destemmed, they are squeezed and macerated for 12 hours. Once maceration has occurred, the grapes are pressed and racking is performed before starting fermentation, which occurs at a controlled temperature of 18 ° C for 8 days. As Bateas is matured for 13 months in steel tanks with its residue. A great wine. Saline, mineral. Atlantic character. Limited production of 5,000 bottles.

The palate is Albariño without a doubt. It is oily yet fresh thanks to its wonderful acidity with a delicious finish and salts.



A straw yellow with golden reflections.



A very mineral nose with herbaceous notes and balsamic.
