About Avanthia Godello

Avancia Godello is a white wine produced from the appellation of origin Valdeorras by Avancia, belonging to the group Jorge Ordoñez.

Avancia Godello is a varietal from Godello. The grapes originate from old vineyards averaging 40 years old planted on sloping lands at 500 meters above sea level.

The soils are predominantly made up of chalk and granite, which gives the wine a special mineral touch.

The harvest is completed by hand, in small containers that prevent any unwanted damage to the grape before its arrival to the winery.

On its arrival, there is a process selection of the best grapes. The fermentation take places in large French oak barrels of 500-600 litres, where the wine is aged for 7 months.

Avancia Godello 2023 is a bright straw-yellow white wine. On the nose, it presents an intense aroma of white flowers, green apple, and citrus, with a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, it stands out for its good acidity and balance, with a flavourful finish and a creamy profile that makes it very pleasant to drink.                      
2020

Avancia Godello 2020 is a luscious white wine brimming with aromas of ripe white fruit, floral undertones, and hints of dried herbs. On the palate, it offers a flavorful, fruit-forward profile with a harmoniously balanced acidity. The finish is extended and delightful.

Mineral and salty memories.
Large texture and body. Lightly unctuous.
Good acidity, well balanced. The wood is well integrated.

Straw yellow.

On the nose certain floral and fruity aromas are highlighted. White flowers with white and tropical fruit. Pear, pineapple, mango, grapefruit. Vanilla and nutmeg.
Fine wooden memories and toasted and honey tones.
Mineral notes.
2012 Bulky and large attack. Mid-palate marked by an intense and unctuous fruity sensation accompanied by an excellent acidity which provides a great and very well-integrated freshness. Long and very persistent finish. Round and balance. A great white wine.

Straw yellow colour with subtle golden reflections. Clean and very bright. Good and dense slow-falling tear.

Intense and expressive nose. Very varietal wine with elegant nuances from its ageing in wooden barrels. Important load of fruit, where the protagonist is the white fruit accompanied by tropical fruit, pretty ripe, and citric touches. When it is opened, the fruit gains intensity and mineral aromas appear. Elegant background of wood with delicate toasted hints, reminiscences of honey and creamy spices.

2010 Very wide and bulky attack in which the wine coats the palate with its aromas. It has a slightly sweet, tasty, creamy and intense mid palate. Its excellent well integrated but marked acidity provides this wine with a good freshness. Its very good, long and very persistent finish shows a light bitter and mineral aftertaste.
Elegant, serious and very rich wine. A pleasure and a luxury!

Nice yellow colour with waxen edges. Clean and bright wine with good glyceric tears.

Very intense and very expressive aromas, with very elegant varietal nuances provided by the oak. It has an important load of fruit, in which the notes of white fruits take centre stage on some touches of ripe tropical fruit and citrus. When it opens up, the fruit gains in intensity and some mineral aromas appear embracing the notes of fruit on its elegant background of wood with delicate and creamy toasted and spicy notes.
2009 With a very fine palate, Avanthia Godello is a serious and elegant wine. It is dense and glyceric. The notes of fruit appear along with creamy touches. Balanced acidity that gives a good freshness. Bitter touch. Lingering finish with notes of sweet fruit and a powerful minerality. Very long aftertaste.

Pale straw yellow. Clean and bright. Dense and abundant tears.

This wine is characterised by its power and intensity. Strong presence of the typical aromas of the variety with white ripe fruits and green grass in the foreground. Little by little it gains strength at the same time that notes of nuts appear with good hints of toast and aniseed.
2008 Wood plays in favor of opening the wine, tapering further in the palate. It shows serious and elegant, long, sweet fruit with final and feelings of minerality.

Straw yellow with golden reflections.

Without missing a nuance of the original varietal expression (ripe white fruit, grass) the wine gains in length of their sequence aromatic, with notes of nuts, toast and hints of aniseed.
