About Bigi Orvieto Classico

Bigi Orvieto Classico is a white wine coupage of the Malvasia, Trebbiano, Drupeggio, Verdello and Grechetto varieties made by the Bigi winery in Umbria, Italy. 

The Casa Vinícola Bigi is a hundred-year-old winery that was based in the old Franciscan monastery of "La Trinitá", in Orvieto, Umbria, but they moved in 1972 to improve their production processes. Today it lies in a modern winery in the town of Ponte Giulio, not far from Orvieto, its former location, and has a production capacity of up to 30,000 hectolitres.

70% of their vines lie on mountainous terrain at altitudes ranging from 150 to 450 metres above sea level, in plots made up of clay soils growing white varieties.
