About Boland Classic Selection Chenin Blanc

Vintners, employees, suppliers, oenologists… and, naturally, nature itself. From this melting pot of passions and hands emerges Boland, a collaborative winery with roots tracing back to the 1930s, when around forty vintners from the Paarl valley, in the Coastal Region of South Africa, gathered to press their grapes collectively.

The enthusiasm was so immense that, soon enough, that initial project overflowed: there were more people than facilities. Yet the spark had been ignited. From this shared spirit was born Boland Cellar, founded by nine farmers who decided to join forces to shape a winery that today stands as a symbol of community, perseverance, and quality.

More than 75 years have passed since then, and over time, Boland has established itself as one of South Africa's most renowned brands, competing on the international stage with wines that preserve the essence of their origins. The vineyards of the Cape Coast are the project's heart. A diversity of soils, cool microclimates, and natural richness ensure consistency and authenticity year after year.

A perfect example of this legacy is found in Boland Classic Selection Chenin Blanc. It originates from the granite slopes of the Paardeberg mountain and the Paarl valley, where the chenin achieves a vibrant and fresh expression. For its production, fermentation is carried out slowly over 3 weeks in stainless steel tanks, and then the wine rests for 3 months on its lees, providing balance and texture without losing a hint of its fruity intensity.
