About Brunus

Brunus is a red wine from the appellation of origin (D.O) Montsant produced by the winery Portal del Montsant.

Brunus is produced from the varieties Cariñena, Garnacha Tinta and Syrah. The grapes originate from vines that are between 20 and 50 years old, planted on slopes at an altitude of 300 to 700 meters above sea level. The fields are located in the towns of Bellmunt, El Molar and Lloar.

The harvest is conducted manually in boxes that can carry up to 16kg.

For production, the wine is produced by using tradition winemaking techniques. The fermentation is carried out in French and American oak barrels of different capacities. The ageing of the wine is completed using the same barrels for a duration of 10 months.

2019

Brunus 2019 is a vibrant and flavorful red, imbued with mineral nuances. The bouquet reveals violet, cherry, strawberry, currant, and herbal notes. On the palate, it unfolds beautifully from a lively onset to a robust finish. Medium-bodied, it boasts velvety yet substantial tannins, embellished with a symphony of fruit and spice flavors.
2018

Brunus 2018 is a vibrant red. On the nose, it is aromatic, boasting notes of redcurrants, wild berries, dried herbs, clove, and baking spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied. Tannins are velvety. The flavor profile is fruit-forward and spicy, culminating in a spiced finish.
2011 A powerful and fresh opening. Passing to a tasty, enveloping and unctuous flavour. Memories of black fruit and mineral sensations. Good acidity. Long finish.

Purple and medium to high body. Very expressive and bright.

Medium to high aromatic intenisity with a predominance of red and black fruit. Toasted notes and a touch of mineral.
2010 This wine is strong and tasty. The freshness of the fruit invades the palate. Long aftertaste.

Violet colour with bluish rim. Bright and lively. High robe.

Aromas of red and black fruit. Toasted and smoky nuances also appear.
2008 Broad and fleshy wine with tasty mid palate. Slightly spiced with touches of smoky. Persistent freshness and long liveliness.

Bright red colour and intense robe.

At the first stage, aromas of spring flowers are noticed. Once aerated, much red fruit (blackcurrant, cherries, blueberries) is released together with mineral notes. Intense and at the same time subtle wine.
