About Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell

Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell is a red wine produced by the Juan Gil winery in the DO Jumilla. The Juan Gil winery is a historic establishment in Jumilla, constructed in 1916 by Juan Gil Giménez. Currently, the fourth generation is in charge of the winery and, through their efforts over the years, they have established themselves as a benchmark both domestically and internationally.

Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell is a single-variety wine made from the Monastrell grape, which has undergone fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 25 days at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging in French and American oak for 24 months. However, the most intriguing aspect of Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell lies in the vineyard, where the grapes are cultivated in vineyards over 60 years old, situated at an altitude of 800 meters on limestone soils.

This limited edition of Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell is a collaboration between Bodegas Juan Gil and Imanol Arias, aimed at paying tribute to the region and the Monastrell grape.

Juan Gil Bruto Monastrell 2021 is a concentrated red wine, with a cherry red colour, it is very intense, with garnet reflections. The nose is powerful, with fruity aromas, spices and toasted notes. And chocolate too! The palate is very expressive and elegant, with enveloping tannins. Well balanced. Long and persistent finish.

A meaty red wine, with sweet tannins, it is extensive and lingering.
