About Cantos del Diablo
Cantos del Diablo is a red wine crafted within the DO Méntrida by the winery Daniel Landi.
Cantos del Diablo is a single-varietal wine made from Garnacha grapes sourced from old vineyards over 60 years old. Daniel Landi practices agriculture based on the principles of organic farming, fully respectful of the environment.
The grapes are sourced from a single estate located in El Real de San Vicente, a small village in the Sierra de Gredos. It is situated at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level, facing north, and experiences a continental climate with Mediterranean influences. The soil is granitic with a sandy surface layer.
The harvest is conducted manually. Daniel Landi employs a minimally interventionist approach, allowing the vineyard to express its inherent qualities. The grapes are destemmed and cold macerated before fermentation, using indigenous yeasts from the vineyard itself, in French oak vats. Cantos del Diablo undergoes ageing for 14 months, initially in 1,500-litre oak foudres, followed by 500-litre barrels.
A delicious Garnacha, highly expressive, fresh, and with great finesse.

| 2017 | It’s been a tough year at Sierra de Gredos but one with great results. The effects of adverse weather has led to low production volume for this vintage. Nighttime frosts on three consecutive days in April affected the growth cycle. During flowering, constant rains caused irregular development of the flower, resulting in the partial loss of production. This was followed by an extreme drought that lasted until the end of the year. Adding to the adverse weather, hailstorms appearing on two days, July 7 and August 28, resulted in production losses of up to 50% in some areas. Regarding the end results for the wines, according to Daniel Landi it has been challenging year, both for the vineyard and for the winery. In order to process what was a difficult vintage, they’ve had to retool the production process, with some excellent results: low production volumes but great wines that are light and refined. As Dani put it, “wines that travel northward, moving away from the Mediterranean character of the vintage.” | |
| 2016 | This plot consists of 6.3 hectares on white granite and limestone with calcareous parts. The clear colours of these wines are not associated with corpulent wines but with fine wines, straight and full of tension. In this case, the citrus and chalk aromas invade the nose and mouth. The texture on the palate expands as the wine ages. | |
| 2012 | Wonderful, tasty and delicate. A presence of red fruits on the palate. Cinnamon. Intense passage and a persistent finish. Cherry red colour. Bright. On the nose it is complex with lots of expression. Red fruit like raspberries, strawberries and redcurrant, red flowers. Dairy notes and minerals. |

| 2009 | The tasting repport of this wine is being translated. Meanwhile, you can check the Spanish version. |
|
| 2008 | In the mouth is very tasty and potent. Return the fruit with notes of aging. Step-by-mouth is elegant and long, with a lingering finish that fills the mouth. A personal wine with personality. Dark cherry intense and shine color. Tear slow. Aromatic complexity where mineral sensations are accompanied by fruit (mature and licorice), spices, cocoa and a touch herbaceous. |
