About Casal de Armán

One of the most historically rich routes you can embark upon is the "Camino Jacobeo de la Geira y los Arrieiros". Along this path, you immerse yourself in a unique natural landscape that intertwines beauty, tradition, and centuries of history. Here, the arrieiros played a crucial role, transporting the renowned Ribeiro wine to Santiago de Compostela, traversing mountains and valleys, carrying with them the essence of the land. It is precisely in this special setting where you will find Casal de Armán, a winery that not only produces wines but also tells the story of a family that decided, in the 1990s, to continue a winemaking legacy passed down through generations.

The passion for viticulture and love for Ribeiro is evident in their eponymous wine. A selection of the indigenous varieties sousón, caíño longo, and brancellao, cultivated on the gentle slopes of the Alvia Valley. These vineyards, situated on granitic soils, possess the perfect conditions for the grapes to flourish in harmony with the Atlantic climate that caresses them. The harvest is conducted manually, with each cluster carefully tended to ensure it reaches the vinification process in its prime state. With controlled fermentation, a maceration period of 7 days, and a 4-month maturation in oak barrels, Casal de Armán takes shape, gaining complexity and structure.

As a result, Casal de Armán is a reflection of a region, its traditions, its history, and the passion of those who, like the arrieiros, carry the essence of the land. A legacy that remains alive and is savoured in every sip.

Casal de Armán 2022 is a vibrant and elegant red wine, captivating with its complex aromas of ripe red fruits, subtle spicy notes, and a hint of vanilla that imparts smoothness. On the palate, it presents as fresh, lively, and succulent, with a well-defined acidity that perfectly balances the intensity of the flavours. Its notes of red fruits, brimming with vitality, offer a delightful and refreshing experience, making it a wine with character and great personality.
