About Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito

Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito is an ecological, wood-aged red wine made by Casebianche with the Aglianico variety in the DOP Cilento, in Campania (Italy).
 
Casebianche is a young winery that was set up in 2000 with the first wines released in 2006. A estate has a total area of 14 hectares located between Mount Stella and the Tyrrhenian Sea, within the Cilento National Park. They make wines using traditional methods, taking as much care of the raw material as possible and creating a unique expression in every wine. 
 
Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito comes from vineyards planted in calcareous-clay soils that are rich in silicon. Surrounded by rich biodiversity and managed through organic agriculture using copper, sulphur and natural fertilisers, the grapes are harvested manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito grapes ferment spontaneously in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts and skin-contact maceration for a couple of weeks. The wine is then aged for 24 months in first- and second-use foudres. 
 
Made using ancient methods, Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito is a clear expression of the extraordinary Aglianico, the most typical variety in this part of southern Italy.

Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito 2020 is a youthful red wine renowned for its robust intensity and pronounced fruitiness. On the nose, it unfurls a bouquet of dark cherries and ripe blackberries, interwoven with hints of spice and a subtle whisper of licorice. On the palate, it presents a formidable structure with tannins that are present yet seamlessly integrated, imparting a pleasing texture. The finish is enduring, leaving an aftertaste of dense fruit and invigorating freshness that beckons one to indulge further.

Casebianche Cilento Aglianico Cupersito 2016 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of red and black fruits, earthy nuances and spicy and balsamic touches. On the palate it is dense, complex and well structured. It reveals mature tannins and a fresh and balanced finish.
