Château Bel-Air Pomerol 2018 is a deep garnet red wine with violet hues. About Château Bel-Air Pomerol

The names of towns often indicate where the wealth of a place lies. Pomerol, a small wine-growing region located on the right bank of Bordeaux, near the region of Saint Emilion (France), was already prolific in growing vines and other vegetables in Roman times, which is why it was given the Latin name “pomarium”, meaning orchard. This is the birthplace of Bordeaux’s smallest premium wine denomination, where they make fantastic, small production wines that, unlike the other top wine sub-regions, do not have a classification system. Among the best known producers of the Pomerol denomination is Château Bel-Air. The name of this estate is commonly used for several châteaux or manor houses in France, especially in Bordeaux, known for producing wine and usually associated with properties located in picturesque or elevated areas with good ventilation.

Its namesake wine Château Bel-Air Pomerol, comes from 13 hectares of vineyards where the soil is characterised by its composition of gravel and sand and ferrous subsoil. These are old Merlot vines, the area’s star variety, that are respectfully cultivated and harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are selected, destemmed and crushed to begin fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. In the winery, two thirds of the wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels.
