About Château La Confession

In this sense, the wine discloses its life and journey with every sip. With this intention, Château La Confession presents us with exceptional wines. Owned by Jean-Philippe Janoueix, a highly respected producer in the Bordeaux region who possesses some of the most prestigious châteaux in Bordeaux (France), his wines blend innovation with a profound respect for the winemaking craft. A confession that manifests in every bottle, testifying not only to the excellence of the Bordeaux region but also to the passion and dedication of Jean-Philippe Janoueix and his team.

Château La Confession, its eponymous wine, is a blend of merlot and cabernet franc varieties sourced from a charming 7-hectare estate located on the high clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux). Vines averaging 40 years old are cultivated respectfully with organic treatments and traditional, environmentally friendly production methods. After a manual harvest with an initial selection in the vineyard, another selection is done at the winery to begin fermentation and maceration in open wooden vats with periodic pump-overs. Finally, the wine ages in oak barrels, providing complexity, structure, and aging potential.

Rich, smooth, and incredibly precise, Château La Confession not only reflects the quality and savoir-faire of the Bordeaux region but also encapsulates the passion and meticulous dedication of Jean-Philippe Janoueix. A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru that, true to its name, is a genuine confession of authenticity and excellence.
