About Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec

Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec is a biodynamic barrel-aged white wine made by Chateau Lafitte with the Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng varieties in Aquitaine (France).

Chateau Lafitte is a 14th-century manor house located in the French town of Monein, Aquitaine. A family estate with 5 hectares of vineyards that is currently run by the family’s son, Antoine Arraou. A passionate winemaker, he is committed to the environment in everything he does. The vineyards are treated according to biodynamic principles and in the winery the wines are vinified in the most natural way. As a result, he makes a range of three high quality wines that are a true reflection of the terroir.

The work in the Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec vineyard is entirely manual. Their whole philosophy seeks to respect and protect the entire natural environment. Because of this, they don’t use chemical fertilisers or pesticides and the vineyards coexist with a great variety of plants, fruit trees, grains, sheep, bees, etc. An excellent biodiversity that thrives through the use of sustainable and biodynamic agriculture that is Demeter certified.

The winery is set out over different levels to use gravity as the main tool for the entire process, Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec is vinified with the minimum intervention. It starts with a slow and gentle pressing, to allow spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Finally, the wine ages for 9 months on fine lees in oak barrels.

Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec is a dry white wine that comes from a devotion to the terroir and respect for the environment. This results in a very personal wine with a perfectly balanced freshness and depth.

2019

Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec 2019 is an aromatic white wine featuring nuances of candied fruit amidst a subtly toasted backdrop. On the palate, it is well-rounded, vibrant, and intricate. This wine showcases a pronounced acidity, a dry yet richly satisfying mouthfeel, and a delightfully lingering finish. 
2017 Chateau Lafitte Jurançon Sec 2017 is a creamy white wine with exotic fruit notes and hints of fresh bread. On the palate it is dense, deep and long. It has a very balanced acidity that brings freshness and roundness.
