About Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien

Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien is a natural red wine made by Château Le Puy in the AOC Francs Côtes De Bordeaux, in Bordeaux with the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.
 
Located in the extreme northeast of Libourne, Château Le Puy is part of the Côtes-de-Francs, a small denomination but with some exceptional terroirs. This is where the Amoreau family has been cultivating vines for four centuries with the greatest care. They now produce natural wines that reflect the maximum expression of the terroir. 
 
Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien comes from vineyards located on a rocky plateau 110 metres above sea level. These are old vines planted in limestone-based soils and cultivated using ecological agriculture without any chemical products, opting for biodynamic treatments instead. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand. 
 
In the winery, Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien ferments spontaneously with native yeasts. It then ages in used foudres for 24 months with frequent racking. The wine is bottled unfiltered, always on a waning moon and without adding sulphites. 
 
Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien is a deep and lively red wine with great aging potential. Pure expression of a wonderful terroir.
 
2018 Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien 2018 is a red wine that on the nose presents a bouquet evocative of blackcurrants, complemented by delicate hints of tobacco and forest floor. On the palate, it is succulent, understated, and refined. A red wine characterized by its fine-grained tannins, harmonious balance, and vivacity, culminating in an extended finish with a delectable lingering taste.

Château Le Puy Cuvée Emilien 2017 is a smooth red wine with aromas of cassis and currants, almond notes and hints of undergrowth. On the palate it is delicate, light and well-rounded. A full wine with silky tannins and a long and pleasantly complex finish.
