About Chateau Rocheyron

Château Rocheyron is a red wine coupage made with Merlot and Cabernet Franc and classified as a wine from the AOC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Château Rocheyron is a Bordeaux winery owned and managed by the famous winemaker Peter Sisseck, creator of the legendary Ribera del Duero Pingus, together with Silvio Denz, perfumer, art collector and owner of several wineries.

The Château Rocheyron vines have an average age of about 45 years old, and are between 40 to 80 years old. They are planted on a limestone plateau, about three and a half kilometers from the centre of Saint-Émilion. The total area of the vineyard is 8.45 hectares with an average yield of approximately 20 hectolitres per hectare.

To make Château Rocheyron, the grapes are destemmed and cold macerated. They then ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 24ºC. Once vinified, the wine ages for 14 months in French oak barrels. 50% of the barrels are renewed annually.

Château Rocheyron is a red wine that offers silky and elegant tannins, great aromatic intensity and a good body, acidity and balance. This is a wine with great ageing potential. Fewer than ten thousand bottles are produced annually.

Château Rocheyron 2023 is a red wine renowned for its intensity. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe fruits such as plums and blackberries, accompanied by toasted notes, spices, and a creamy hint of mint chocolate. On the palate, it offers a powerful and vibrant entry, with flavours of ripe black fruit, black liquorice, and spices. It is broad, liqueur-like, and highly persistent, with a concentrated profile that leaves a lasting impression.

Château Rocheyron 2021 unfolds as a dance between subtlety and complexity. As you bring the glass closer, a symphony of ripe blackberries, warm spices, and a delicate hint of vanilla invites you to delve into its world. Its texture is akin to velvet, fluid and silky, enveloping the palate with juicy, vibrant fruit balanced by perfectly integrated tannins. This wine, like an elegant and sophisticated confidant, whispers its tale with a mineral and lingering finish, ideal for an intimate evening or a moment of introspection in front of a serene landscape. It is the epitome of refinement in a bottle.
 
2016 Château Rocheyron 2010 has a deep cherry colour, and thick tinted tears. The nose is quite intense with aromas of ripe fruit and creamy toasted hints, some spicy notes and a touch of mint chocolate. The palate has a powerful and energetic beginning that softens to allow you to appreciate a good ripe black fruit. Broad, intense, strong, spicy, black liquorice and long-lasting.
