About Château Sénéjac

If a winery is known for producing high-quality and renowned wines, it is likely that its new releases will generate expectation and demand even before they are launched. A winery's reputation and track record can influence the pre-pricing of its wines. These wines are produced in very limited quantities and, for this reason, create an aura of exclusivity and scarcity. They often arouse great interest among collectors and enthusiasts, which can increase their value before they are available on the market. Château Sénéjac – a charming and distinguished wine that has received high ratings and positive reviews from expert wine critics, vintage after vintage – is one of these wines.

Coming from a property in Médoc (Burgundy) dating back to 1500 and whose vines have been producing since the 18th century, the estate has been owned by the Cordier family since 1999 (also owner of Château Talbot). Halfway between Margaux and Bordeaux, the soil is naturally poor in organic matter and covered with gravel and clay. An exclusive terroir characterised by fast and efficient drainage, whose well-treated grapes are the raw material for its namesake wine, Château Sénéjac. In the winery, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.

The result is Château Sénéjac, a highly-prized wine, which in its youth radiates fruitiness and, with the passage of time, beautifully shows the class of great Haut-Medoc AOC soil. A great collector's wine.

2023

Château Sénéjac 2023 unfurls an alluring bouquet of ripe black fruit aromas such as blackberries and plums, interwoven with delicate hints of spices like pepper and clove. On the palate, its density becomes apparent, delivering a sumptuous and sturdy texture, with tannins that suggest a potential for graceful aging. This red wine unveils a solid structure and a lingering finish that beckons one to further explore its intricacies.
