About Christian Barbier Deunidó

 
Christian Barbier Deunidó is a natural and biodynamic red wine produced by Christian Barbier in the D.O. Montsant (Catalonia) with the Garnacha Tinta variety.
 
 
Son of the prestigious René Barbier, Christian Barbier was born and raised surrounded by vineyards, vats and barrels. A great connoisseur of Priorat’s licorella soils, he started working in Montsant to produce this personal wine based on the wisdom and complexity of plants cultivated according to biodynamic and sustainable principles.  
 
 
Christian Barbier Deunidó is a Garnacha Tinta that starts life in La Coma, an estate in the town of La Figuera, in Priorat. The vines grow on white clay soils, at an altitude of 600 metres and are cultivated without using any chemical products. They are grown using biodynamic treatments based on organic preparations and combined with herbal medicine. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
 
In the winery, the Christian Barbier Deunidó grapes are selected and then they macerate for a week, with 10% of the stems. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and then spends another 5 months in these same tanks. Once ready, the wine is bottled without adding sulphites. 
 
 
Born into the family of one of the leading wineries in Priorat, Clos Mogador, Christian Barbier makes Deunidó through his love for these lands that he cultivates using biodynamic principles. As a result, he produces a wine with authentic natural freshness.

Christian Barbier Deunidó 2020 is a robust, dry red with a highly concentrated profile. Olfactorily, it is aromatic and alluring, boasting significant potency and intricacy. It features prominent overtones of exceedingly ripe black fruits and plums. On the palate, it is well-structured, with a medium body and moderate acidity.
2019 Christian Barbier Deunidó 2019 is a juicy red wine with aromas of fresh red fruits, floral notes and spicy touches. On the palate it is light, fresh and easy to drink. A wine with a good structure, bright acidity and a very pleasant rustic touch.
