About Emilio Moro Clon de la Familia

In the realm of viticulture, clones are individual plants selected for their specific attributes and meticulously reproduced to preserve these desirable traits. This is achieved by taking cuttings from the mother plant and propagating them to create new genetically identical plants. Emilio Moro, a winery renowned for producing high-quality wines in the Ribera del Duero region, has, over three generations, selected its finest vineyards to replicate, thereby ensuring the power, elegance, and character of its tintos finos.

This endeavour reaches its pinnacle with Emilio Moro Clon de la Familia, a single-variety tinto fino born from the fusion of the qualities of the three types of soils where their vineyards are cultivated: calcareous, clayey, and sandy. This approach yields clusters of reduced size yet great intensity. In the winery, the grapes macerate in 3,000-kilogram stainless steel tanks for 26 days and ferment at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, the malolactic fermentation and ageing take place in French oak barrels over several months.

The result is Emilio Moro Clon de la Familia, a very special wine that seeks to pay tribute to the tradition, passion, and personality of a winery that has gained worldwide recognition for its reds, a testament to the quality and winemaking tradition that has made the DO. Ribera del Duero so famous.
