Clos Galena 2019 is a red wine of remarkable complexity and elegance, boasting an extensive aromatic range that captivates from the outset. About Clos Galena

Clos Galena is a red wine from the D.O. Priorat produced by the Clos Galena – Domini de la Cartoixa winery. It is a blend of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena varieties.

The grape used comes from five of the winery’s 14 hectares of vineyards, which they cultivate ecologically. After a meticulous selection process, the Clos Galena grapes are harvested by hand. Once they enter the winery, the grapes are left to ferment and macerate in stainless steel tanks. Each variety undergoes these processes independently.

The skins are gently pressed later, after which they continue with malolactic fermentation.

Lastly, the final definitive blend is carried out. The wine rests for twelve months in new French oak barrels before refining for another two years in the bottle.

2017 Clos Galena 2017 presents itself as a profound and multifaceted red wine, which, upon olfaction, reveals a bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, interlaced with hints of spices, and nuanced by mineral and balsamic undertones. The palate experience is exquisite, characterized by intensity and a substantial body. It is a harmonious and vibrant red wine, both succulent and refined.
2011 Vibrant and robust, it exudes a fruity essence coupled with excellent acidity. Intricate, well-constructed, and harmonious. Delightfully prolonged and persistent finish.

Captivating deep cherry hue.

Expansive with a refined grace. It reveals spiced undertones and hints of ripe fruit, nuances of citrus, and subtle mineral traces.
2010 The taste is a complex, fresh and intense. A great presence of fruit. Spices and cocoa notes. Wonderful acidity. Very balanced. Silky. With a great structure and ripe tannins. Long finish. Aftertaste of ripe fruit.

Spacious and elegant nose. Spices with ripe fruit, a hint of citrus and a nice minerality give way to liquorice, cocoa and damp earth.

2007 Elegant, ripe and very tasty complexity. A wine with a wide and very fresh attack and a velvety mid palate. It is well-bodied and bulky. Its powerful notes of fruit are nuanced by toasted aromas cocoa and balsamic hints. Its excellent acidity and its elegant tannins and very nice. Long and very persistent finish with an amazing fresh touch of citrus.  A pure wine from Priorat.

Intense and deep very dark cherry colour. Clean and bright wine with a high robe. Elegant slow-falling tears.

Complex and very intense aromas with a very nice powerness. It shows spicy aromas reminiscent of black spices (black pepper and clove) and soft sweet species (vanilla and cinnamon) which very soon mix with intense notes of extremely ripe black fruit and surprising and refreshing citrus hints. Its elegant toasted aromas and its delicious minerality with extraordinary touches of slate appear along with a few light touches of underbrush which complete and nuance this wide aromatic set.
2006 In mouthfeel is fresh, intense and long, where highlights the maturity of tannins, which are subtle and elegant.

Cherry red, high layer that marks the high intensity of this wine.

The aromas are clean and elegant, ripe fruit of black leather with light citrus touches that add freshness, characteristic of wines of the Domini de la Cartoixa. Also combines the minerality with balsamic and black and sweet spices.
