About Clos Lentiscus Wow Wow Tinto

Although the standard 0.75 cl bottle has always been the most widely used, some winemakers are choosing new, less restrictive formats that reflect what is inside the bottle. This is the case with Manel Avinyó, a winegrower with a long family history who, following the death of his father in 2001, decided to start making his own still and sparkling wines at Clos Lentiscus. His estate lies in the Garraf Natural Park, 50 km from Barcelona (Catalonia), and this is where he recovers local native varieties with the utmost respect for nature, resulting in wines like Clos Lentiscus Wow Wow Tinto, a natural red wine with a litre of charming Penedès identity.

Clos Lentiscus Wow Wow Tinto comes from Syrah variety vines planted in sandy and calcareous soils. This is a unique area influenced by the Mediterranean sea breeze and cultivated using organic and biodynamic principles by the Avinyó family. Once the fruit has been harvested by hand, it is macerated for 20 days with skins and without stalks. It then undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and then ferments in amphorae. Finally, it is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphites.  

Made with the aim of producing wines for people to enjoy, to share with friends and with no pretenses, Clos Lentiscus Wow Wow Tinto is a fruity and juicy single-variety Syrah. A good companion for get-togethers that will keep you going with its 1-litre size.
