About Costa delle Parracine Forastera Ischia Bianco

If you have yet to acquaint yourself with Ischia, prepare to discover a corner of the Mediterranean where nature and viticulture unite in an epic manner. This volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples is not only a paradise of thermal waters, postcard-perfect beaches, and charming villages, but also a place where cultivating wine is almost a heroic act. Here, off the coast of Campania, vineyards cling to seemingly impossible slopes, defying the gradient and geography, supported by the renowned "Parracine": kilometres of dry stone walls made from green tuff, constructed with patience and precision by generations of local stonemasons. These walls not only uphold the land but also protect the very life of the vine, transforming each terrace into a minor agricultural miracle.

In this unique setting emerges Costa delle Parracine, a viticultural project already promising to make waves. Driven by the Gruppo Tenute Capaldo-Feudi di San Gregorio in collaboration with Tenuta C’est la Vie, owner of a historic estate on the island, the project pays homage to those green walls that shape the landscape and make it possible for the magic of Ischia to reach the glass.

A perfect embodiment of this philosophy is Costa delle Parracine Forastera Ischia Bianco, a white wine that blends history, character, and Mediterranean freshness. The forastera grape, introduced later to the island but now fully adapted (hence the name), imparts personality and elegance to this wine. The vines, approximately 25 years old, grow at 300 metres above sea level on volcanic soils that provide minerality and depth. After harvesting, the wine is vinified and aged for 4 months in stainless steel, preserving all the freshness and expression of the terroir.

Costa delle Parracine Forastera Ischia Bianco is a fresh, balanced white, brimming with personality, capable of transporting those who taste it directly to the Mediterranean breeze, to the sun caressing the terraces, to the green walls supporting the vineyards.
