Today, everyone knows that Margaret River in Australia is a vinous treasure, yet in 1965, that reputation was still in the making. No one could have foreseen that those lands would produce wines of international acclaim. Everything changed thanks to Dr. John Gladstones, an academic from the University of Western Australia, who discovered that the climate and soil of Margaret River were comparable to those of the world's most prestigious wine regions.

However, Gladstones was not alone in this vision. With the collaboration of entrepreneurs like Kevin and Diana, owners of the Wilyabrup estate, the region's potential began to be realised. Invited by them, Gladstones toured their lands, and together they laid the foundations of what is now known as one of Australia's most important wine regions.

From this history emerges Cullen Wilyabrup Cabernet-Merlot, one of the country's most renowned wine labels. This wine is a precise blend of cabernet sauvignon, which provides body and structure; merlot, which imparts richness and smoothness; and a very small proportion of cabernet franc, which leaves a delicately silky finish. The grapes hail from the Cullen and Mangan vineyards, an integral part of Cullen Wines, and its maturation of 6 months in French oak barrels (25% new) enhances its elegance and complexity.
