About David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin

David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin is a red wine made by David Duband in the AOC Gevrey-Chambertin (Burgundy) with the Pinot Noir variety.

Ever since David Duband started working in his father's winery in 1991, he has been constantly evolving the way he works. He starting by no longer selling his grapes in order to make his own wines, and cultivating the 17 hectares of vineyards according to Ecocert principles. This has led to him creating a wide range of wines from 5 spectacular Burgundy AOCs.

David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin comes from old 65-year-old vines planted on limestone soil. They are ecologically cultivated without using synthetic chemical pesticides and maintaining the soil’s biodiversity and fertility. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

The David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin grapes are classified in the winery and vinified with 80% of whole grapes over 17 days, a process which includes 5 cap plunges and 7 pump overs. It is then pressed and decanted for 2 weeks. The wine ages for 14 months; 40% in new barrels and 60% in 1, 2 and 3-year-old barrels. After aging it rests for 3 months in vats and is finally bottled without filtering.

David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin 2019 is a sophisticated red wine. The bouquet reveals a spectrum of red and black fruit aromas. On the palate, it exhibits a medium-bodied structure, brimming with rich tannins. The finish is extensive and enduring.

2017 David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin 2017 is a concentrated red wine with a complex nose revealing spices, red fruits and menthol notes. The palate is powerful with a pleasant fresh finish.
