About Didier Grappe Chardonnay

Didier Grappe Chardonnay is a natural white wine made with the Chardonnay variety by Didier Grappe in the AOC Côtes du Jura, in Jura (France).

This project was set up in 2001 in the heart of the Jura by Didier Grappe, a dedicated advocate of organic viticulture who lets the grapes speak for themselves both in the vineyard and in the winery. These wines are natural micro-productions of pure fruit juice.

Didier Grappe Chardonnay comes from young vines planted in clay-limestone soils. Synthetic chemical treatments are avoided and the vines are protected with sulphur and fermented plant extracts. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

Didier Grappe Chardonnay is spontaneously vinified with native yeasts and then aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months. Finally it is bottled without filtering, clarifying or adding sugar.

A wine defined by the winemaker himself as “free as a bird”, Didier Grappe Chardonnay is a white wine made for adventurers in search of an authentic wild Jura.

2019

Didier Grappe Chardonnay Longefin 2019 is a white wine with aromas of ripe fruit, oxidative notes and hints of dried fruits. On the palate it is spicy, fresh and enveloping. A wine that reveals a marked acidity, notes of orange peel and hints of minerality.
