Tasting notes Diego Magaña Anza Blanco 2024
White wine.
Diego Magaña Anza Blanco 2024 exhibits an appealing straw-yellow hue that entices one to explore its fresh and subtle aromas. Initially reserved, it gradually unveils a spectrum of citrus notes, such as lemon and grapefruit, before revealing a very light tropical hint reminiscent of pineapple. Furthermore, the presence of mineral notes adds depth to its character. On the palate, it is perceived as a lively and fresh wine, with a well-balanced acidity that imparts an electric and refreshing sensation. Perfect for those seeking a vibrant and elegant white with a clean and nuanced aromatic profile, ideal for enjoying in a relaxed setting or as an accompaniment on any special occasion.

About Diego Magaña Anza Blanco
At times, the smallest things hold the greatest value. A brief embrace that uplifts someone's spirits, a timely word that remains etched in memory, a minute seed that grows into a centuries-old tree, or a rare stone that holds millions of years of history within. It is within these small details that true wealth is concealed. What appears insignificant at first glance can have a tremendous impact and a unique beauty.
In Spain, Diego Magaña has embraced this principle in the world of wine. As the son of the renowned Juan Magaña, a pioneer of merlot in Navarra with Viña Magaña, Diego inherited a robust winemaking tradition but chose not to simply replicate what had been done before. His ambition lies elsewhere; working with micro plots in Navarra, Bierzo, and Rioja Alavesa, where patience, observation, and dedication are transformed into wines with their own distinct voice.
Anza Blanco perfectly exemplifies this philosophy. It is born from a blend of viura and malvasía from old vines planted on limestone soils in Laguardia, within Rioja Alavesa. Fermented in neutral barrels and aged for a year in a 500-litre barrel before bottling, it offers a clean, precise, and elegant profile.
With Diego Magaña, the concept of micro-territory becomes more than abstract. It is an entire sensory experience. Each wine invites the discovery of the greatness of the small, the richness of the unique, and Anza Blanco is the testament to this.
