Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges is an organic barrel-aged red wine made by the French winery Domaine de L'Arlot in the AOC Nuits-Saint-Georges / Côte-d'Or (Burgundy) with the Pinot Noir variety.

The Domaine de L'Arlot winery has a long history dating back to the 18th century when a 0.87 hectare 1er Cru monopole was created in the prestigious Nuits-Saint-Georges commune. It is now run by winemaker Géraldine Godot, who ecologically cultivates a total of 15 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the Pinot Noir variety. In the winery, the winemaking process takes great care of the fruit in order to produce world-renowned 1er Cru wines.

Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges comes from an exceptional terroir planted only with old Pinot Noir vines. To conserve and protect the soil qualities, they use ecological agriculture with biodynamic practices and without using chemical products. The strain yield is limited and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges is vinified using traditional methods. It first undergoes a short maceration with the grape skins and pump overs are carried out with great care to preserve the natural qualities of the wine. The wine is fermented with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. It then ages in barrels, 50% of which are new oak.

2014 Domaine De L’Arlot Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Rouge Clos Des Forets Saint Georges 2014 is a smooth red wine with complex aromas of small black forest fruits, sweet spicy notes of liquorice and developing hints of leather. On the palate it is fresh, intense and delicious. A well structured wine with delicious fruit and mineral notes, rich tannins and a powerful and elegant finish. This is a wine to keep in the bottle for a while, which will make it more delicate, silky and complete.
