Worthy successor to the deep 2015, Domaine de la Romanée Conti Romanée Conti Grand Cru 2016 is a smooth red wine with complex aromas of berries, floral notes of violets, exotic spicy touches and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate it’s ample, rich and satiny. A wine with a silky texture and vibrant acidity which maintains a perfect balance between fruit and oak. The finish is long and expansive with an appetizing bitter touch. A great work of art with a long journey in the bottle and ideal for tasting between 2028 and 2050.

Domaine de la Romanée Conti Romanée Conti Grand Cru is a biodynamic red wine aged in wood, made by the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée Conti with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Romanée Conti Grand Cru, in Burgundy (France). 
 
Just mentioning Domaine de la Romanée Conti Romanée is enough to excite any appreciative wine lover. It’s one of the most mythical wineries in the country which has the best collection of "grand crus" in the Côte d'Or, including two "Monopole". A name acquired from the most famous vineyard in the domain, the estate has previously passed through many hands and there are even rumors that the French state once intervened so it wasn’t bought by foreign investors. Today it’s owned in equal parts by the Villaine and Leroy families and their wines attract everyone’s attention thanks to the superb work carried out on the vineyard and in the winery. Legendary wines which are only distributed by the most prestigious houses around the world. 
 
Domaine de la Romanée Conti Romanée Conti Grand Cru comes from an exceptional plot. The last in Burgundy to resist the phylloxera outbreak. However, in the Second World War it couldn’t tolerate the lack of carbon sulfur and for five years it didn’t produce vintages. It’s currently in top form through organic farming with biodynamic treatments. Furthermore, the maturation is exemplary with extremely low yields, leaving nothing to chance and carrying out several selection stages in the vineyard.
 
After manual harvesting, the Domaine de la Romanée Conti Romanée Conti Grand Cru grapes are gently crushed and then macerated with their skins at a controlled temperature. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels and finally the wine matures for 12 months in new French oak barrels acquired 3 years before and dried by the house cooper.
