Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is a wood-aged red wine made with Pinot Noir by Domaine Fourrier in the French denomination of AOC Gevrey-Chambertin/Côte-d'Or, in Burgundy.
 
Located in the Gevrey-Chambertin region of Burgundy, Domaine Fourrier is a family winery with more than five generations of experience in cultivating Grand Cru and Premier Cru. Since it was set up in 1950 by Fernand Pernot, they have been making classic wines that perfectly define the Burgundy style.
 
Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is made from a 3 hectare estate north of Gevrey. There are three plots of old vines aged between 70 and 90 years old and planted in three different types of soil. The vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and yields are limited. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually. 
 
In the winery, the Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes grapes pass over the selection table and are completely destemmed. A natural pre-maceration of 3 to 4 days then begins before the grapes start fermenting spontaneously with native yeasts. Finally, the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new. 
 
Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is the result of meticulous work to preserve the silkiness of the fruit. This produces a very pleasant wine with an impressive expression of its place of origin.
