About Finca de la Rica El Nómada

Finca de la Rica El Nómada is a red wine from the D.O.Ca. La Rioja produced by Finca de la Rica. It is a blend of tempranillo and graciano varieties.

The grapes for Finca de la Rica El Nómada thrive in clay-limestone soils with clay subsoils. The plots are situated at an altitude of 610 metres.

The vines are south-facing, trained as bush vines, and have an average age of around 60 years. Harvesting takes place during the third week of October.

The grapes for Finca de la Rica El Nómada are destemmed with 25% whole grape filtration. The must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation in French oak.

Finca de la Rica El Nómada is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels that have been used for one or two wines. Before bottling, it is clarified with egg whites.

Finca de la Rica El Nómada is one of those historic Rioja wineries run by Alavesa winegrowers, now led by the fourth generation. It boasts 31 hectares of vineyard spread across more than 25 plots.

2021

Finca de la Rica El Nómada 2021 is a red wine exhibiting a deep cherry hue with a garnet rim. Upon approaching, one detects initial aromas of gently toasted French oak barrels and dark fruits such as blackberries and plums. As it breathes, subtle hints of pepper, liquorice, and dark chocolate emerge. On the palate, it is notable for its fleshy body and silky texture, being the most intense vintage to date. Ideal for those who appreciate robust wines with character.

Mineral, white fruity notes and a base of mint.
2009 Very fresh and tasty wine, with a long, very friendly and elegant mid palate. It has a velvety texture with a good load of fruity notes, creamy nuances and an amazing mineral background. Very good acidity and very nice tannins, which are still noticeable. Long and persistent finish.

Intense, bright cherry colour with subtle maroon reflections. Thin tears.

Very fresh aromas with strong notes of juicy and very expressive ripe red fruit with intense balsamic hints and pleasant floral notes. When it opens up, a wide range of spices are released along with notes of coffee and chocolate, vanilla and pepper, subtle touches of tea leaves in perfect balance with the creamy toasted notes provided by the oak.
