About El Pacto

 El Pacto is a red wine from the D.O La Rioja, produced by Bodega Classica. This is a single variety wine, made exclusively with Tempranillo grapes, a classic variety of the region.

The climate of the region is excellent for the cultivation of vineyards, with adequate moisture, not very abundant rainfall, concentrated in winter periods, a good ventificación and uneven terrain that builds countless slopes and terraces.

The grapes used to produce this wine come from old vines that are over 70 years old. The vineyards are located in riojan Sonsierra region and are organically cultivated, helping preserve the character of the surrounding environment. The harvest is usually carried out at the beginning of October, although this does depend on the vintage. After being quickly transported back to the winery, the bunches pass through a selection table, where only the best quality grapes are selected to make this wine.

Before being bottled and placed onto the market, this wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. The result, an intense and surprising wine, which is corpulent and fresh.  

Bodegas Classica is a project bought to us by the founders of Hacienda López de Haro. The winery looks to produce wines using traditional methods, and is currently home to 5,000 barrels where they age their wines.

El Pacto 2020 is a red wine that captivates at first glance with its intense colour, displaying violet and deep red hues. Upon approaching the nose, intense and honest aromas of forest fruits such as blackberries and blueberries unfold, complemented by notes of liquorice, undergrowth, spices, and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, it is full and balanced, notable for its robust yet fine and fresh body. The fruit flavours intertwine with the spicy and chocolate notes derived from its moderate barrel ageing, culminating in a persistent and concentrated aftertaste.                      
2018

El Pacto 2018 is a robust red wine. The bouquet reveals an honest array of aromas, with hints of forest fruits, licorice, underbrush, spices, and chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, exhibiting a harmonious balance, substantial yet refined and invigorating, with flavors of fruit and nuances imparted by the wood.
2012 Harmonious and full-bodied. Exuding exquisite delicacy, it reveals a delightful vivacity. The finish is fruity, with lingering hints of oak.

Cherry-hued with reddish and purplish tinges. Deeply coloured.

Of pronounced intensity, it offers a complex bouquet: hints of liquorice, wild berries, spices, and chocolate.
