About El Regajal Selección Especial

El Regajal Selección Especial is a red wine from Vinos de Madrid produced by Viñas de El Regajal.

El Regajal is a complete blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Syrah. The grapes are grown in different plots on the farm, which is close to Aranjuez, the last city of the Community of Madrid to the south.

The grapes come from young vines, grown using ecological methods. The climate is characterised by extreme temperatures, ranging from -8 ° C in winter to 41°C in summer.

Regarding the development of the Regajal, the grapes are destemmed but not pressed. Subsequently maceration is done with the skins.

Once macerated, fermentation of each variety occurs separately. Finally, once the blend is made, Regajal spends 13 months in French oak barrels. Bottling is done without filtering.

El Regajal Selección Especial has been accumulating awards since its first vintage in 2001, becoming one of the most valued Madrid wines.

2013 Very good entry, broad and volumous. A dense wine with body. Incidentally very tasty, sweet and silky. Ripe tannins. Long finish. Tasty, elegant and very nice.

Bright intense cherry red with purple hues. Medium-high. Fine glycerine tear that stains the glass.

A powerful explosion of aromas with ripe red and black fruit. When opened, there are many sweet spices, chocolate, subtle hints of undergrowth and light balsamic.
2009 Very good, large and bulky attack. A dense and well bodied wine, with a very tasty, sweet and silky texture mid palate. Its creamy and fruity notes are displayed along with pleasant hints of chocolate. Very balanced wine with a sharp acidity and ripe tannins. Long, persistent and very nice finish. A very tasty, elegant and easy-drinking wine. Very nice.

A powerful explosion of fruit aromas with notes of ripe red and black fruit fill the nose on first nosing. When it opens up, lots of sweet spicy notes are displayed along with chocolate, subtle touches of underbrush and light balsamic hints on an intense creamy background with dairy and bakery aromas. A pleasure of a wine.
