El Sequé is a red wine from D.O. Alicante produced by Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé.
This winery belongs to the group of wineries Artadi, an important winemakig group of Rioja.
 

Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé is located in the site Paraje el Sequé, in the municipality of Pinoso (Alicante). 


El Sequé is a monovarietal of Monastrell from old vineyards cultivated at 600 metres of altitude on quaternary sandy soils with a clayey subsurface.

It is vinified in open stainless steel deposits with cold maceration for 24-48 hours and fermentation for 10-12 days, with two daily stompings and a slight pump-over. It goes through malolactic fermentation and it is aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.

El Sequé is a wine where the seduction of the sweetness of the ripe fruit, the silkiness of the saturated tannins and the balsamic freshness of the Mediterranean nature, roundly and seriously come together.

El Sequé 2021 unfolds a commanding presence on the palate, with a plush and opulent texture reminiscent of velvet. Its bouquet conjures an autumnal forest, suffused with balsamic whispers and a ripeness manifesting in nuances of dark fruits such as plums and blackberries. Its intensity becomes apparent with each tasting, delivering a robust and ample profile that stands resolute and vibrant.
2018 The Sequé 2018 is a richly concentrated red wine boasting a sophisticated bouquet of ripe red fruit, toasted nuances, and spicy undertones. On the palate, it is robust, profound, and highly expressive. It reveals silky tannins, seamlessly integrated acidity, and an enduring, persistent finish.
2016 El Sequé 2016 is a deep, expressive and powerful wine. This 2016 vintage displays more freshness than usual. Aromas of ripe red fruit with light toasted and spicy notes on the nose. On the palate it is silky, with a certain volume and a fresh and lingering finish.
2013 The palate is very tasty, ample. Black and red fruit with vanilla. Juicy tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent.

Fruit has much prominence. Strawberry, raspberry, plum and blackberry with light memories of vanilla, cocoa, liquorice and pleasant toasted notes.
2007 Wine very tasty, full and with sweet tannins. Marked fruity balsamic notes.
