Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles 2020 is a cherry-hued red wine that immediately captivates the senses. On the nose, its spicy notes are complemented by aromatic herbs and a hint of fruits such as plum and blackberry. Upon tasting, it astonishes with its freshness and fruity flavour, leaving a silky sensation on the palate. About Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles

Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles is a red wine made by Bodega Ferrer Bobet from D.O. Priorat.
Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles is a coupage of Cariñena and Grenache Tinta. The grapes are grown on century-old vines on steep slopes, called "costers" in Priorat.
The soil is typical for this denomination, very sought after. Slate soil, called "licorella" that contributes to the minerality and special character of the wine.
The vines are located in one of the highest and freshest areas in the denomination which guarantees the perfect ripening of the grapes. Additionally, there is a contrast in temperatures between the day and night which helps preserve aromas and acidity.

Ferrer Bobet do not use any type of insecticide or fungicide or herbicide, showing an enormous respect for the land.
The harvest is done by hand, and the grapes are transported to the winery in small 10kg crates. The grapes pass through a selection table twice where there is a strict selection from grape to grape.

The fermentation is done in 15 and 30 hl wooden and stainless steel deposits. Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles undergoes an aging for 15 months in lightly medium toasted and fine grain French oak barrels.
The wine is not filtered or clarified before it is bottled.
Before it is released onto the market, it rests for a minimum of 11 months in the bottle.

2017

Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles 2017 is a concentrated red wine with complex aromas of ripe black fruit and spiced notes under a delicious chalky background. On the palate, it’s full, deep and very fruity. A voluminous wine with silky tannins and a long, persistent and very mineral finish.
2016 Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles 2016 is a concentrated and expressive red wine with aromas of ripe red fruit, spices and graphite. On the palate it is full and intense with a long-lasting finish.
2011 Tasty, velvety, complex, long and fresh attack. It shows a great liveliness, an excellent acidity, sweet tannins and a surprising touch of ripeness.

Ripe cherry red colour with violet reflections. Clean and very bright. Abundant well-defined and coloured tear.

High aromatic intensity. Aromas of ripe red fruit with lactic touches are firstly noticed and give way to intense spiced nuances, which are more present than in previous vintages. Its evolution in the glass, let us find out pleasant balsamic aromas, floral and aromatic herb notes over slight and very fine toasted hints and elegant mineral notes.
2010 It has a long and complex tasty, mellow and velvety mid palate. It shows a high liveliness, a magnificent acidity, sweet tannins and a surprising hint of ripeness. Delicate, fresh, balanced. It shows an emergent trend to elaborate subtler and more delicate wines in Priorat.


Spectacular dark cherry red colour with violet reflections and fuchsia disc. Clean and very bright. It has abundant coloured tears.

Very deep nasal aromas with a direct and well defined high intensity. Its notes of ripe red fruit with a milky touch give way to intense spicy aromas, more intense than in previous vintages. Its evolution in the glass, allows discovering nice balsamic aromas, floral notes and hints of aromatic herbs on very light and elegant toasted and mineral nuances.
2009 Extraordinary wine! It is very expressive, very tasty, full-bodied, bulky, elegant and suggestive.  From the first sip, this wine coats the mouth with a great minerality wrapped in intense notes of fruits and very nice and sweety spices. It shows a long mid palate with a silky texture. Its noble tannins are sweet and well integrated. It has an excellent acidity that provides it with a perfect balance. Great long and very persistent finish which leaves fruity sensations and very nice mineral aftertaste.  A round, elegant, tasty, very expressive, noble wine. Undoubtedly, a great wine.

Attractive intense cherry colour with violet edges. A wine with a high robe and bright, elegant and dense slow-falling tears.

Very expressive, intense, complex and at the same time seductive aromas. This wine shows a wide minerality that surrounds the fleshy notes of ripe fruit (with a touch of liquor), the aromas of cocoa and vanilla and the elegant toasted and milky nuances. Its subtle floral and herbal notes are released along with a great balsamic background when the wine opens up. Elegant and very harmonious pleasant set which invites to be tasted.
2008 In the palate, this wine is a real pleasure. It has a wide and bulky attack and a very tasty and sweet mid palate. It is very expressive and powerful and has a soft and silky texture. Its abundant notes of fruit (with a liquoriced touch) are released with a certain minerality, which gradually gains ground. It is balanced and has a good acidity and integrated tannins. Long and very persistent finish. A strong, round wine. Very suggestive.

Intense cherry colour with violet reflections. Medium-high robe. Very bright wine with very good glyceric tears which glides with elegance.

Intense and very expressive nose. Its notes of high quality red and black fruit are released on a strong mineral background which reminds of the slate soils and the herbal Mediterranean forests that surround the vineyards. When it opens up, the wine gains in freshness thanks to its many balsamic aromas. It has good aromas of good wood and spices. The bouquet is completed by the balanced and harmonious floral and liquorice nuances.
2007 Wine with a heavy load of fruit, sweet, with the minerality of the licorella that fills the mouth. Priorat wine, fresh with notable tannins. Step pleasant and persistent. Very long and pleasant. A rounded wine.
