Finca Allende Mingortiz 2016 is a red wine with intense aromas of blueberries and blackberries on the nose, dressed by the pleasant aromas of sweet spices and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is silky and intense, a wine that dances harmoniously, displaying silky and intense tannins. A Rioja red wine with a smooth mid-palate, long finish and excellent aging potential.

About Finca Allende Mingortiz

Miguel Ángel de Gregorio is an artisan of the land and says that wine is the thing that best reflects its intensity and man’s ability to understand it. He knows this from experience. At his winery, Finca Allende, in Briones (La Rioja Alta), he manages to produce top class wines that have all the character of the Rioja terroir and speak of its glorious past, but that are also defined by a modern touch of a promising present and future. 
 
Finca Allende Mingortiz is a red wine that comes from a plot of the same name, lying at an altitude of 515 metres above sea level, where Tempranillo was planted in 1964. This area has predominantly clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is ploughed using animals. Organic fertilisers are used to take care of the vines and herbicides are avoided. Once the grapes have reached optimum ripeness, the bunches are harvested by hand and, when the grapes reach the winery, they undergo another selection by eye and are placed whole in French oak vats.
 
The resulting wine rests for about 16 months in French oak Bordeaux barrels with racking every six months. The wine is bottled without filtering or clarifying.
 
Finca Allende Mingortiz is a silky and fruity, deep and mature wine. A red wine that points to the contemporary history of Rioja, which is being written in capital letters by people like Miguel Ángel de Gregorio, creator of some of the best new wines of the Old World.
