About Finca La Reñana

Finca la Reñana is a white wine from D.O la Rioja produced by Bodegas Luis Alegre. This is a blend of the varieties Viura (90%) and Malvasía (10%).

The grape for Bodegas Luis Alegre originates from one vineyard owned by the winery at 650 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Sierra Cantabria.

The harvest is completed by hand and the grape production is around 2,500kg/ha. The average age of the vines are 85 years old.

Two selections processes: in the field and in the winery. There is a process called debourbage which lasts for 24 hours in stainless steel containers.

After the fermentation process in the barrel, Finca la Reñana rests for 6 months in new French oak barrels from the Troncais woods, near Paris.

Finca la Reñana is a high quality wine, that is was named by Parker as the best oak fermented wine in the world.

Bodegas Luis Alegre is a family winery established in 1968 located in Laguardia, in the heart of La Rioja Alavesa. The winery is open to visitors and has a famous restaurant.

2014 Elegant and fresh, balanced to perfection between the acidic and fruity notes. Fine roasted tones and a long finish.

Straw yellow with greenish hues. Clean and shiny.

Citric note and sweet touches combined with vanilla undertones on a patisserie base.
2013 Elegant and fresh. The fruit and acidity find a perfect balance. The aftertaste with toasted notes, is long.

Straw colour with greenish hues. Bright and neat.

Sweet citrus aromas with hints of ripe yellow fruit and vanilla tones. A base of soft and fine pastries and toast.
2012 On the palate this wine is elegant, fresh and unctuous. Great balance between the fruit, the acidity and the alcohol. A round wine. The great contribution of the lees is noticed. Long aftertaste marked by refined toasted notes.

Nice straw yellow colour with greenish reflections and waxy edges. Clean and very bright.

Medium-high intensity nasal aromas. Before swirling the glass, citrus aromas stand out along with sweet nuances of ripe yellow fruit mixed with hints of vanilla. Once aerated, nuances of tropical fruit (pineapple, peach and apricot) are released on a background of patisserie aromas and refined, elegant toasted nuances.
