Frontio Deldoma 2022 is a white wine that stands out for its subtlety and light body. On the nose, it reveals aromas of fruits such as pear and peach, accompanied by a creamy touch imparted by the barrel. Its freshness is maintained thanks to a good acidity, which balances its slightly mature character. This wine, with low alcohol content, promises to evolve favourably over time, displaying an aromatic and appealing personality.

About Frontio Deldoma

Fermoselle is more than a village; it is a hidden gem in the province of Zamora, right where Spain and Portugal meet. Known as the village of the 1,000 wineries, this corner of the Arribes del Duero region harbours a unique legacy beneath its feet: a labyrinth of underground cellars that recount tales of generations devoted to wine.

However, Fermoselle does not solely dwell on the past; it is also a land of new opportunities. Among its vineyards and wineries, we discover stories that seem straight out of a book. One of the most astonishing is that of Thyge Jensen, or “Chus,” as he is known here. This former Danish broker traded ties for field boots and left behind numbers to embark on a vinous dream in this indomitable region of Arribes del Duero. With determination and a profound respect for local expertise, Chus founded Bodegas Frontio, where he blends traditional methods with a fresh and innovative perspective.

Among his creations stands out Frontio Deldoma, a white wine that speaks of the soul of Fermoselle. Crafted with doña blanca, the emblematic variety of the area, it originates from 6 plots of ancient vines, aged between 80 and 100 years, planted on complex soils of granite, gravel, and quartz. The grapes are cultivated with respect for the environment, and after a meticulous manual selection, they are transferred to a 500-year-old granite cave, where the magic begins: a brief skin maceration, fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, and an aging process of 10 months. The result is a fresh, complex wine full of nuances that reflects the unique character of this land.

Made with an atypical Spanish grape, Frontio Deldoma not only revives tradition but also creates something new and special. A true gem of Fermoselle that merges the essence of the land with the innovative vision of a man who, leaving his city life behind, decided to invest in a terroir yet to be discovered.
