About Geol

Geol is a red wine from D.O. Costers del Segre produced by Tomàs Cusiné. This wine is a coupage of the varieties Carignan, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The grapes used to make Geol come from several plots owned by the winery. The selection of the grape berries is carried out on a selection table in the winery.
First of all, the grapes used in Geol ferment at a controlled temperature between 24 and 26ºC. Before the wine is bottled, it goes through an ageing stage.
Geol ages in new French oak barrels for 14 months. During this time, the lees are moved around periodically.
Tomàs Cusiné is a winery located in the small village of El Vilosell that takes advantage of the old cooperative to make its products.
2012 Broad and silky, robust with well-rounded tannins. Exhibits considerable depth and enduring finish.

Deep cherry red hue.

A diverse and sophisticated aromatic profile. Wild berries are prominent, underlaid by a subtle hint of oak.

The palate has a wide and silky entrance, which includes round, deep and powerful tannins. It has a lingering aftertaste.



An intense cherry red.

On the nose, there are aromas of berries such as blackberries, alongside plum compote. Hints of cedar, eucalyptus and intense chocolate, balsamic, pastry, liquorice and an elegant shades of wood are also perceived.
2008 Expressive, polished, fresh, mineral and spicy in the mouth. Nice, tame, ripe tannins and a long and deep acidity providing a great freshness. This red wine is deep, enjoyable, long and persistent.

Intense picota cherry colour, clean and bright.

A clean, highly intense nose with lots of ripe black fruit like plums, blackberries and forest fruits, well combined with spicy notes, liquorice, cocoa, dried fruit and menthol and balsamic touches, all surrounded by notes of fine wood.
2007 It has a powerful attack with highly noticeable notes of the ageing. However, these aromas are balanced by the freshness of its fruit nuances. In short, it is a fleshy red wine with polished tannins, a good structure and very elegant mid palate. It shows a long finish with subtle mineral hints.

Deep cherry colour wine.

Initially, the aromas of wild berries, ripe fruit, plums and blackberries are displayed followed by milky notes provided during the fermentation and powerful notes of liquorice, spices and cocoa provided by the barrels.
2006 In the mouth has a large attack and silky tannins with well Domat, powerful, structured, broad and persistent aftertaste. Drink between 16 and 18 ° C.

Cherry colored wine intense.

The nose offers balsamic notes of fine pastries, menthol and licorice, mild fruity background.
