Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero 2014 is a wine with aromas of red cherries, with marzipan and a touch of tobacco on the nose. It is very fine and floral, with memories of violets, jasmine, lavender and roses. On the palate it is extremely playful with the taste buds, has a good body and volume and seduces us incredibly with its pleasant freshness.

About Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero is a monovarietal Nebbiolo red wine from the DOCG Barolo, produced by Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio.

Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio is a small family winery in Piedmont founded in 1881. It is considered one of the finest producers of Barolo and one of the best producers in the world. The winery vinifies in cement tanks coated with epoxy resin and in stainless steel tanks, and ages its wines in Slavonian oak foudres to ensure that the grape and its terroir are fully expressed.

The vineyard for Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero is located in the municipality of Castiglione Falleto. Its soil is clay-sandy and calcareous; with gray marl, brown clay and grey sand of marine origin. It faces southwest and produces a high quality grape. The plot has belonged to the family since 1985.

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero ferments for about 15-20 days in cement tanks and then ages in Slavonian oak foudres for around 30 months. The wine is bottled four years after the harvest.

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Villero is a very aromatic wine, with many nuances. On the palate it is firm and muscular, but elegant and balanced.
