Goliardo Loureiro is a red wine that is produced by the winery Forjas del Salnés in the appellation of origin Rías Baixas.
Forjas del Salnés is a small family business established in 1912 that has been using traditional methods which have been passed down from generation to generation to the members of the Méndez family.
Since 1995, they have been working in collaboration with the great winemaker Raúl Pérez, one of the most influential characters on the Spanish wine scene. Working alongside Rodrigo Méndez, to create wines with a great personality and extremely high in quality.
Goliardo Loureiro is produced from the varietal Loureiro, a native grape that has been practically forgotten about in recent years, originating from old wines planted near to the sea.
The grape is destemmed and cold macerated. Goliardo Loureiro is fermented in steel containers and a controlled temperature for 12 months in French oak barrels of 225 litres used by 3-4 wines.
Goliardo Loureiro is a red wine from land that is more or less perfect for white wines with a strong personality for the varietal Loureiro, this brings it a special character.
