About Box 1 bottle Gramona Argent

Gramona Argent is a sparkling wine made by the Gramona winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

Gramona was founded in 1881 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. After over 130 years of experience in producing sparkling wines and wines, the fifth generation is currently in charge of the business, continuing with the family tradition and the philosophy they have applied in focusing their work on the winery over the years.

These past few years, Gramona has evolved in terms of the way it treats its vineyards, moving into organic agriculture and biodynamics, achieving the maximum balance of the vines with their surroundings, and in doing so filling all its wines with character and uniqueness.
 

Gramona Argent is a sparkling wine made with Chardonnay grapes from vineyards owned by the Mas Escorpí estate, which is over 20 years old. Stony soils with more than 40% limestone. The yield is very low - 2,500-3,000 kg/ Hectare.

After being harvested manually into 20 kg boxes, all the grapes pass over the selection table in the winery. Once the grapes enter by gravity, they are pressed whole, obtaining only 35% extraction. After the initial fermentation, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle and undergo a minimum aging period of 48 months with a cork stopper. After this time the disgorgement is performed manually and winery’s centennial solera liqueur tirage is added with 6 gr/liter of sugar.

2012 Gramona Argent 2012 is an elegant, balanced and mature cava. A good vintage in terms of its varietal expression. Ripe white fruit, with notes of fresh yeast on a subtle toasted base note. On the palate it is full, with a fine bubble and a dry and fresh finish.
2008 In the palate, this is rich and well structured. It has a good attack and an unctuous and silky mid palate. Its fizziness is well integrated and it shows an excellent and lively acidity. Long and very persistent finish.

Nice pale yellow colour with golden bright reflections. It shows thin small bubbles which come off continuously and slowly.

Complex, very aromatic and expressive nasal aromas. Its notes of very ripe white fruit with nuances of tropical fruits and some citrus hints appear along with some floral notes, aromatic herbs and notes reminiscent of nuts and bakery.
2005 Presents bodied, smooth touch that involves constant, acidity live long and intense aftertaste with allusions to ripe fruit, spices and smoked.

Straw yellow with golden reflections again.

Presents a good ripeness in the nose, intense, dynamic, combines French white fruit flavors (pear water), stone fruit and exotic bouquet of flowers with an accent of fresh herbs and noble upbringing notes: vanilla, pastry cream, puff pastry and roasted.
