About Grosset Springvale Riesling

In the world of wine, excellence is distinguished and celebrated. In Australia, the Langton Classification is the seal of quality that identifies and extols the most prestigious wines of the country, charting a map of wine excellence. Since its beginnings in 1991, this classification has been the definitive guide for wine lovers in search of the exceptional. Divided into categories ranging from "Exceptional" to "Distinguished", the Langton Classification recognizes the quality and reputation of Australian wines based on their demand, heritage and winemaking excellence. It is under these premises that Jeffrey Grosset, a well-known Australian winemaker who settled in 1981 in the Clare Valley, in southern Australia, produces Grosset Springvale Riesling, a wine that has been rated as "excellent" by the Langton Classification and that stands out thanks to its providence from one of the great Riesling vineyards found in Australia.

Located on slate subsoils, this vineyard enjoys a privileged position that enhances the excellence of its wines. A unique terroir whose slate soils and valley altitude confer upon it an unmistakable identity. These advantageous conditions, combined with the masterful vision of winemaker Jeffrey Grosset, result in the very essence of Clare Valley. Thanks to Grosset’s disciplined approach and years of experience, Grosset Springvale Riesling achieves the purest expression of variety and location. Starting with organic grapes harvested by hand in small boxes, they are destemmed and crushed in the winery to obtain a pure free-run juice. Fermentation is carried out for two weeks in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures in separate batches, based on the age of the grape variety. Lastly, the different wines are mixed and bottled.

Recognized as "excellent" by the prestigious Langton Classification, Grosset Springvale Rieslinghighlights the essence of the Clare Valley. A place where the magic of the terroir meets the mastery of a legendary winemaker, coming together to give life to this exceptional wine.
