San Vicente de la Sonsierra is situated in the heart of the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja, one of the world's most esteemed wine regions. Its vineyards, sprawling across the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria, yield some of the region's finest wines, particularly with the tempranillo, graciano, mazuelo, and garnacha grape varieties. A place that seamlessly blends tradition, culture, and modernity, it stands as a principal driving force of the DOCa. Rioja. In homage to this legacy, Hacienda López de Haro, a winery established in 2001 by the Vintae group, presents Hacienda López de Haro San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a wine that epitomises the perfect synergy between tradition and innovation, highlighting the richness of this remarkable region.

Crafted from the tempranillo and mazuelo varieties, Hacienda López de Haro San Vicente de la Sonsierra is a blend sourced from old vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 530m, influenced by the Cantabrian Mountains to the north and the Ebro River to the south. It is organically farmed, with the harvest conducted manually at the optimal point of ripeness. In the winery, with the aim of recapturing the true essence of Rioja, that of its fine wines, a traditional vinification is employed with an alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by an ageing period of 14 months in new and second-use barrels of French oak (40%) and Eastern oak (60%).

As a result, Hacienda López de Haro San Vicente de la Sonsierra emerges as a true contemporary classic. An impeccable expression of the historical finesse of Rioja, combined with the outstanding quality of the old vineyards of San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
